Should Parents Be Punished

I feel sorry about the killing event in Columbine High School in Colorado. Two students killed one teacher and another twelve students than suicide. Everyone is shocked. According to this incident, police officers have a lot of investigation. Some people think the parents of these two students should be punished while someone think it's not necessary. I think the parents shouldn't be punished.

Every parent loves his children. Who doesn't want his/her child to be good. These parents ought to be sad, surprised, and, probably, ashamed. They have to suffer the blames and the pain of losing sons at the same time. How can we punish them by putting them in jail?

The parents should take the responsibility of their children. They should spend more time with their children by talking to them and knowing their lives in the school. These actions would direct teenagers to do the right thing. Probably many people have the same ideal. However, I don't think so. Some parents work part-time and spend time on their children. But teenagers still behave badly. That's their natures. Nobody can do anything to help one's nature.

On the other hand, instead of punishing parents, the movie producers should restrict themselves. In order to make money, the producers have produced movies full of violence to attract audiences. Teenagers, somebody call them copycat, copy from these movies to the real life.

The parents take the responsibility of their children, but don't have to suffer the punishment. No parent doesn't love his/her children. It is not their fault that can't read their children's minds. I would rather say twice, the parents of the two boys who killed students in Colorado should not be punished.
